The Big Picture

Giants among giants or who is big in Colorado?

Your looking at a Mt Lincoln (right) and Mt Bross (left) where Marie's Nest is located, somewhere in the forest at about the 9 o'clock position.   Mt Bross at an height of 14, 172ft (Colorado's 22nd highest) and Mt Lincoln at 14,286 (8th highest) are both taller than the famous Pikes Peak at 14,110 (31st highest). This area is one of the few climbs a novice in good physical condition could climb 4 peaks (14ers) Lincoln, Democrat, Cameron, and Bross, all in one day.

Note:  Mt Cameron is not officially considered a 14er because its peak only rises 138 ft above it saddle shared with Mt Lincoln - missing the grade of 300 ft to be considered a stand alone peak.
